No anti-Semitism! Stop the neo-Nazi action!

We, members of different antifascist left-wing organizations, are united in our protest against the action, organized by so-called „Young National Democrats“ on November 10, 2007. This organization, tied to neo-Nazi National Resistance, is going to march through former Jewish quarter of Prague on the anniversary of Crystal Night – the pogrom in 1938 when more than 100 Jews were killed and more than 30 thousand were deported into the concentrarion camps in 1938. Most of them never returned.

However still today the neo-Nazis treat Jews as scapegoats as Hitler did. They have claimed that Jews are responsible for the Iraq war and occupation and they try to misuse people´s just opposition to the war. This is a false claim by the neo-Nazis, which is used in support of their racist agitation.

We dont agree that such organizations, which build their political programmes on a similiar foundations as the former Nazi Germany, should be able to propagate their anti-Semitic, racist and undemocratic view in the central district of our capital. We dont believe that the choise of a date was accidental. Neo-Nazis have often used Nazi anniversaries for their presentation.

The demonstration of Young Natrional Democrats (and National Resistance) was originally forbidden by authorities. However later, there were some proposals – after the court decided about the overturn the ban – to forbid all „extremist actions“ in the future. The authorities would then have the right to limit the freedom to assemble and would use their power against the Left and progressive forces. We dont agree with this at all. We refuse the represions against antifascist (which we saw more than one´s this year) as well. The Police and authorities arent able to stop the brown scum!

We call on everybody and all to actively support the action against the neo-Nazis on November 10. Its our job to stop them.

"They came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I wasn´t a Catholic

Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up."

There's some coverage of this in the German left-wing press:
